Underground Radio

Underground Radio in the United States refers to a movement of unlicensed, often countercultural radio stations that emerged primarily in the 1960s and 1970s. These stations typically operated without Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approval and played non-mainstream music, such as psychedelic rock, folk, and protest songs, as well as airing political content that challenged societal norms. They were instrumental in promoting the counterculture of the era and providing a platform for dissenting voices.
